Children’s Liturgy

Children’s Liturgy has been suspended due to Covid.

We run a Children’s Liturgy group at St Peter’s which deliver the Gospel message to children each week. These take place during the 10am mass ievery Sunday, irrespective of school holidays, except in the months of April, August and December. We have a great team of dedicated volunteers, all CRB checked, who deliver the day’s gospel message to the various groups through stories, songs, pictures and actions. The children also produce a picture or some craft relating to the day’s theme.

The children lead out to join their groups once the mass has begun. They then return during the offertory where they have the opportunity to process back into the church and show  their work as part of the offertory procession. The location is the Church Hall. Parents are invited to join their children in the Pre-School Liturgy; the older children go unaccompanied.

If you are interested in joining our rota to help deliver the liturgy please get in touch! You are also welcome to come along to some sessions to see what we do. Materials, information and support are provided and volunteers are usually asked to run just one or two sessions each term.
