Safeguarding

Volunteers who work with vulnerable groups – including children and vulnerable adults – must be safely recruited according to National Procedures produced by The Catholic Safeguarding Advisory Service (CSAS). These procedures apply to all Dioceses in England and Wales.

Safe Recruitment means that all volunteers who work with vulnerable groups must:

  1. Complete an Application Form which includes the supply of two references.
  2. Complete a Safeguarding Self Declaration Form in which any past criminal convictions, cautions or involvement in care proceedings must be declared.
  3. Complete a Disclosure & Barring Service Application which will be sent to the volunteer’s home address by the Safeguarding Office.
  4. Meet with the Parish Rep to have the back of the DBS Form completed and three original ID documents seen and photocopied

St Peter’s safeguarding representative is Aisling Brombley. Please contact her should you have any questions or concerns.
